Here is recent quote from Hillary Clinton:

“We can talk all we want about freedom and opportunity, about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but what does all that mean to a mother or father who can’t take a sick child to the doctor?”

Read it again.  Understand it.  If it doesn't scare the crap out of you then you are an idiot.

Twice in the past 24 hours I've been assaulted by rubes on TV who claim that this is a Christian nation and that Thomas Jefferson acknowledged "the creator" in the Declaration of Independence.  Here are the actual words in the Declaration:

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Note the part about the laws of nature and nature's god.  That statement is inclusive of all people - believers and non-believers alike.  There is no mention of a particular belief or point of view.  Next, note that people's rights are endowed by THEIR creator - not THE creator.  This was Jefferson's way of saying that however you believe you came into existence, you are a sentient being with rights.

And since not all the nation's founders were Christian (or even religious) how can the conclusion be made that this is a Christian nation?  To even SAY that this is a Christian nation is to display the most blatant arrogance.  If you don't believe me, then imagine saying that this is a "white nation."  Get it now?  Good.  Sit down and shut up.

So what is more disgusting - a bunch of old ladies singing the praises of their denture adhesive or a bunch of middle-age guys singing the praises of their erectile-dysfunction medicine?  I long for the days of post-nasal drip and itchy, smelly feet.

A new study says that 1/3 of all Americans believe in ghosts.  Well, what about paper clips, pegboard and fax machines?  Are THEY real, too?  It's turtles all the way down, isn't it?  

In a related story, a study of American dogs says that 100% of them believe the tennis ball to be the greatest invention ever.  At least the dogs have an excuse.

So Desperate Housewives is now in trouble for making fun of medical schools in the Philippines.  My my, aren't we all getting a little sensitive.  How about an apology to Italian-Americans from Coppola, Scorsese and the producers of the Sopranos for all the mafia references.  It's now a stereotype that Italians are all involved in organized crime and it just isn't true.  Except for my grandfather Giuseppe.  He's dead now but for years he had Hitler chained to his water heater.

Last week I saw Venus Williams on with David Letterman and she said that finally the prize money for women in professional tennis will be the same as for men.  There's only one problem with that:  men play five sets of tennis and women only play three.  What ever happened to equal pay for equal work, huh gals?

Didja see those identical quadruplets who were born yesterday?  What you might not have heard is that the parents are Canadians who had to come to the U.S. to give birth because apparently no hospitals in Canada are equipped to handle four intensive care babies.  The family is from Calgary, a city of about a million people yet there were no facilities to treat them.  They found a hospital with the necessary neonatal program in Great Falls, Montana - a city of about 57,000.

Meanwhile, Hillary is traipsing around some hospital playing nurse.  Be very afraid.

Do you think Keith Olbermann ever gets the feeling he's being watched?

So didja see the Live Earth concerts?  Me neither.  But I'm optimistic that in the years to come, they will prove to be beneficial to all mankind.  For example, there were lots of starry-eyed young punks in the 70's who listened to Paul Ehrlich when he said the planet would be destroyed by overpopulation.  I believe he said that "half the world's species will be extinct by 1990."  Oops.  And the alarmists were wrong 30 or 40 years ago when they claimed the problem was global cooling and we were headed for a new ice age.  Oops again.  Through the years, the radical environmentalists have been mostly wrong and global warming is no exception.  So when the planet starts cooling again all by itself, these gullible kids will grow up and realize they were lied to for political purposes.  

Yes, most will look back at Robert Kennedy, Jr. saying that global warming deniers are "corporate toadies" and "flat-earthers" and laugh at how naive they were for believing this crap.  

As for me, I just killed a man in Reno just to watch him die - but don't worry - it's okay because I purchased murder offsets.  Some people will believe anything.

Hillary Clinton said, "And when I'm President, we're going to get back to cherishing the Constitution."  I've actually read the Constitution and it doesn't seem to authorize stealing corporate profits, creating government health care systems or using elite military personnel to murder citizens.  I have the feeling Hillary cherishes the Constitution as much as Bill cherished Monica Lewinsky. 

Looks like Mike Nifong got what was coming to him after his disgraceful behavior in the Duke rape case.  Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.  Some people have coined the word "nifonged" to mean an unjust prosecution by an overzealous prosecutor.  In my mind, this is a mistake as it replaces another word that meant the same thing:  "giulianied."

So Michael Moore took some ailing 9/11 rescue workers to Cuba to get health care they ostensibly couldn't get in the United States.  I have a couple of suggestions for Mr. Moore:  First, the next time he or one of his family members gets seriously ill, they should go to Cuba for treatment.  After all, nothing but the best for Moore and his family.  Better yet, why not move to this worker's paradise now?  And just to provide balance (I know I'm dreaming), perhaps he could search out Cubans in need of medical care and offer to bring them here.  My guess is he can't afford all the boats that would be required.

Holding on for dear life, thousands of Cubans seek better health care in the United States using Michael Moore as a flotation device.

State and local governments should ban smoking in malls, restaurants and virtually all other public indoor settings, and the Food and Drug Administration should regulate the marketing, packaging and sale of tobacco products, the influential Institute of Medicine said Thursday in a report on how to further cut tobacco use.

The study also calls for raising federal taxes on cigarettes and developing a federal plan to gradually reduce the amount of nicotine in cigarettes so they are no longer addictive.  The institute is a branch of the National Academies, a scientific organization chartered by Congress to advise the government on scientific issues.

A "scientific organization" huh?  I read this article several times and I saw a lot of political meddling.  I saw a few assumptions.  I saw a plan that will increase crime and cigarette smuggling.  I saw a group of self-serving hacks who have a hammer with which they wish to bludgeon other people.  I saw a group of fascists who put their narrow agenda above freedom, liberty and the rights of the individual.  But I sure didn't see any science.

I was just reading about  ZETIA, a cholesterol-lowering medicine.  While the health threat of high cholesterol has always been a myth, the nice folks who make ZETIA actually admit it.  How refreshing.  This is from their website:

(04-29) 18:03 PDT OAKLAND -- Huge leaping flames from an exploding gasoline tanker melted the steel underbelly of a highway overpass in the East Bay's MacArthur Maze early this morning, causing it to collapse onto the roadway below and virtually ensuring major traffic problems for weeks to come.

As you probably know, I get all of my political news and physics information from comedians which is why this story is so baffling.  According to Rosie O'Donnell, the collapse of WTC 7 on September 11 was the first time fire ever melted steel but now it's gone and happened again.  Just what are the odds?

But seriously, does this woman think we just dig steel girders out of the ground?  

When will the carnage stop?  Yet another senseless death due to alcohol.

So tonight John Stossel said that 70% of black children are born to single moms.  He made the point that Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" coincides with the decline in black marriages.  Stossel said, "...this had the unintended consequence of discouraging women from getting married because they could lose a welfare check if their husband made money."

Hate to nitpick Mr. Stossel but I seriously doubt the consequences were unintended.  The Left in this country has a long history of sub rosa racism and this is just one of many examples.  Don't believe me?

They support banning cheap handguns.  In other words, the guns that are used by poor minorities.  Decorum precludes me from telling you the real meaning of the term "Saturday Night Special."

They were behind the tragic ban on DDT in the name of the "environment."  Look, I'm no fan of government rubes running around with sprayers but this was a public health measure aimed at eradicating the mosquito.  Before DDT, malaria in the Third World was killing hundreds of thousands of black and brown people - mostly children.  The mosquito was nearly wiped out by DDT and malaria cases were at an all time low but then the environmentalists got it banned.  Almost a million black and brown people died from malaria last year.

They came up with Social Security, a plan to steal 12.4 percent of a black man's salary and turn the money over to old white women.   The demographics don't lie.

They came up with the minimum wage - a scheme to pay back the unions for their support while causing thousands of young minority teens to lose their jobs.

They came up with Affirmative Action - a distasteful system that implies that minorities are inferior and can't make it on their own without help from whitey.

As I pointed out after Kelo v. New London, it was the liberals on the Supreme Court who supported taking the land of lower class people (of all races) so it could be  turned over to rich people.  The property of poor minorities will forever be a target for the rich who want to steal it.

For years "Urban Planners" have fought to declare poor neighborhoods as blighted.  It doesn't matter how vibrant these neighborhoods are - they get torn down because they aren't aesthetically pleasing to the Socialist left and the residents get moved into shiny new public housing like they are cattle.  

Don't worry about the Nazis wearing swastikas or the Klansmen wearing their little clown suits for they are easy to identify.  The real racists are the Social Democrats and you'll usually see them with their arm around a black person.

Carma Department:  So some idiot is driving down the highway surfing the net on his laptop.  Being distracted, he swerves into oncoming traffic and plows head-on into a Hummer.  The two occupants of the Hummer walk away with minor scratches while laptop boy bought himself a one-way ticket to the Darwin Awards.  The laptop not only survived, it was still running when the police found it in the wreckage.  

I guess every now and then justice prevails.

So Hillary Clinton actually said, "The other day the oil companies reported the highest profits in the history of the world.  I want to take those profits and I want to put them into a strategic energy fund that will begin to fund alternative, smart energy; alternatives and technology that will begin to actually move us toward the direction of independence." 

The woman is a thief.  It doesn't matter how nice her intentions are, she wants to steal someone else's money.  Thief.  End of story.

I'm willing to bet you can't gargle milk for ten seconds.
